About
Cummings/Riter
Cummings/Riter Consultants offers engineering and consulting services that enhance our clients’ best practices in order to efficiently, effectively achieve project and program goals in five core areas: environmental remediation and compliance, site development, surveying and mapping, information management, and health and safety.
As a 100% employee-owned firm comprised of engineers, geologists, scientists, construction managers, field technicians, administrative support, and professionals in design, health, safety, and Brownfields, it is the talent and integrity of each individual that collectively forms our greatest asset, which is our staff.
History
Cummings/Riter was established in 1993 by Pat O’Hara, P.E., and Ken Bird, C.I.H., who worked on some of the earliest remediation projects in the 1970s and had been friends and colleagues for more than 15 years. Within two years, the addition of seven staff members established what continues to be the nucleus of the firm. From its roots in remediation, the practice grew in response to clients’ needs while maintaining its original business strategy: rather than trying to be all things to all clients, Cummings/Riter focuses on delivering appreciable value in our chosen areas of practice.
